Proper e-waste disposal

The disposal of electronic waste includes all devices and device parts that have a cable – this includes, for example, discarded or defective devices, as well as individual components from devices.

At elorec, e-waste is not simply treated indiscriminately. Before devices or components are dismantled or recycled, we carefully check: What can still be used? Which parts contain hazardous substances? And what can be recycled safely and efficiently?

In doing so, we adhere to legal requirements, technical possibilities, and practical experience. Our work makes a concrete contribution to ensuring that the required recovery and recycling quotas for e-waste can actually be met. Because improperly handled e-waste poses enormous risks – including for the legal certainty of our customers.

How it works

What we dispose of for you

elorec takes care of your old electrical appliances from households, businesses, and industry – they are classified as e-waste. Since they often contain hazardous components, we sort them professionally for further processing. This can either be delivered by you, or we will pick it up for you. E-waste is generally divided into collection groups. Below you can see which five collection groups we accept at elorec:

Heat Exchangers
(Collection Group 1)

The collection group for heat exchangers includes devices that are cooled or heated by gas, oil, or other substances. These include refrigerators, air conditioners, heat pumps, freezers, etc.

Screen Devices
(Collection Group 2)

Devices with a screen surface area of more than 100 cm² form their own collection group. These are only devices used for displaying images and information, such as monitors, televisions, and laptops.

Large Appliances
(Collection Group 4)

All electrical appliances with outer dimensions of 50 cm or more that do not fall under the collection group for heat exchangers and screen devices. These include, among others, washing machines and dryers, electric stoves, and dishwashers.

Small Appliances
(Collection Group 5)

Small appliances with an edge length of up to 50 cm include all electrical and electronic devices that have an outer dimension of up to 50 cm and do not yet fall under categories 1 (heat exchangers) and 2 (screen devices). These include: vacuum cleaners, irons, video cameras, toasters, ...

Solar Module
(Collection Group 6)

We accept PV systems and direct them to recycling or disposal.

For cadmium-containing modules, please speak with one of our experts.

E-waste Disposal

1 • Consultation & Offer

Do you want to dispose of e-waste professionally? We take the time to answer your questions. In a non-binding consultation, we will show you how to safely and legally dispose of your old devices – completely hassle-free.

2 • Order Processing

Your written order initiates the concrete implementation. We clarify details, arrange the collection date, and send you the collection slip. All further steps are carried out in close coordination with you – a dedicated contact person will guide you through the process.

3 • Collection and Disposal

In our specialized disposal facility in Essen, we weigh the e-waste and create an intake receipt. Afterwards, we sort the e-waste according to collection groups, remove hazardous substances if necessary, determine reusability, and proceed with further treatment.
