Reuse: Preserve Value, Conserve Resources

The most sustainable option is to give products a second life. The reuse of functional devices or components ranks highest in the waste hierarchy. It most effectively prevents waste, saves energy, and conserves primary resources by maximizing product lifespans. We support this principle as a crucial element of the circular economy.

Repair: Repair Instead of Replace

Many defects don't signify the end of a device. Repair can often restore functionality and significantly extend its lifespan. This approach reduces e-waste, conserves resources that would be needed for a new device, and is a crucial step before final recycling. We advocate for establishing repair as a permanent component of the product lifecycle.

Recycle: Recover Valuable Materials

When reuse or repair is no longer an option, recycling (Recycle) comes into play. This is our core expertise: Using proven methods, we dismantle end-of-life electrical devices and recover valuable secondary raw materials like metals and plastics. These can then be used to manufacture new products. This way, we close material loops and make an essential contribution to resource conservation.

International Transfer of Practical Expertise

As a company, elorec Recycling specifically supports ERG Ltd. in Ghana in its role as a mentor and trading partner. It assists in operating a facility according to safety standards, structuring processes, and conducting e-recycling.

In close collaboration with international organizations and Ghana's environmental authority, a cross-border e-waste disposal concept is being jointly established.

For us, recycling goes far beyond merely dismantling and recovering old devices. Our holistic approach aims not only to meet legal requirements but also to find the optimal way to manage e-waste. This includes exploring alternative recovery options for end-of-life devices and developing innovative processes to more efficiently reintroduce valuable resources into the circular economy.

Affordable and Clean Energy

We are committed to a sustainable and independent energy supply. On our company premises, we generate climate-friendly solar power using our own photovoltaic system. We intentionally use pre-owned solar modules, which we carefully inspect and reinstall. Combined with our self-developed battery storage systems, made from reused lithium-ion cells, we ensure a continuous and sustainable supply of clean energy. This allows us to lead by example while actively contributing to the energy transition.

Decent Work and Economic Growth

Recycling is more than just environmental protection. Our daily work supports the development of a sustainable economy that provides long-term secure jobs – both locally and internationally. Currently, in collaboration with our partner Electro Recycling Ghana, we are establishing a local recycling plant to create fair and secure employment opportunities. This is how we actively contribute to promoting sustainable growth and decent work.

Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure

As a certified waste management company, we develop innovative solutions to systematically reintroduce end-of-life devices and their components into the circular economy. This includes proven methods for reusing electronic components, recovering spare parts, and constructing stationary energy storage units from used lithium cells. In collaboration with research partners, we are also developing strategies for light electric vehicles – such as assessing their remaining lifespan and determining suitable end-of-life options. This approach allows us to combine technical innovation with the establishment of sustainable infrastructures.

Sustainability starts when products are given a new purpose instead of being discarded. That's exactly what we work on every day: We assess old devices for reusability, recover functional components, and channel valuable materials into recycling. Our services enable companies to dispose of waste in a legally compliant and resource-saving way, aiming to close material loops and utilize raw materials effectively. We responsibly implement what is technically feasible and legally permissible – quickly, practically, and with a holistic view.

Climate Protection Measures

Our daily work automatically saves energy and reduces emissions. Because when old devices are reused or properly recycled, fewer raw materials need to be extracted, transported, and processed. This is also demonstrated by our own energy supply, which uses pre-owned solar modules and 2nd-life batteries. Climate protection begins in our operations. We understand climate protection as a consequence of a functioning circular economy and address it directly.

Partnerships for Achieving Goals

Sustainability is teamwork. That's why we collaborate with universities, research institutions, and companies to develop new solutions for the circular economy. A particularly important partnership for us is the collaboration with Electro Recycling Ghana. Together, we support the establishment of a professional recycling infrastructure locally. This creates strong partnerships that share knowledge, strengthen structures, and advance environmental standards internationally.
